About Me

Roald Dahl has the kind opening sentence on his Wikipedia page I've always wanted for my own biography: "Roald Dahl was a British author of popular children's literature and short stories, a poet, a screenwriter, and a wartime fighter ace."

However, I am not British nor have I served in the military, and I avoid roller coasters when I visit an amusement park, so I will mostly likely never be part of an aerial dogfight. Still, I'll try to describe myself in a similar fashion.

I'm a writer, screenwriter, playwright, librarian in training, former newspaper reporter, actor, filmmaker, and all-around creative person. Barring occasional trips and vacations, I've spent all my life in Ohio, born and raised in the Cleveland.

I attended Ohio Wesleyan University where I graduated with a degree in English-Creative Writing and Journalism (plus a Film Studies minor, the first to do so at OWU), and spent 13 years in the Columbus areas doing a variety of different jobs including working for a couple of newspapers, a hospital, the state, and a library. I also worked in an escape room and as a Standardized Patient for The Ohio State University, pretending to be a patient for medical students to practice on.

Presently, I'm back in Northeast Ohio. I'm attending Kent State University's online Master of Library and Information Science program. I'd like to get back to working for a public library eventually, although I'm also interested in working for an archive or museum. We'll see what the future holds.

Like my writing? Want to pay me to write for you? Let's talk.
